The Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is seeking a Bilingual Spanish Speaking Supervisor II Social Work to provide direct clinical social work services to NFP clients living in Manhattan and Queens. The NFP Social Worker’s caseload will consist of primarily Spanish speaking-only clients living predominantly in the following neighborhoods: Corona, Washington Heights, The Lower East Side, Jamaica, Sunset Park & Sunnyside.
NFP is a nationally replicated nurse home visiting program that serves first-time, low-income mothers and their families from pregnancy through the child's second birthday. The NFP model has been rigorously evaluated for over 30 years and has demonstrated significant improvements in pregnancy outcomes, parenting practices, child health and development, and family self-sufficiency. The NFP Bilingual Spanish Speaking Supervisor II Social Work will provide therapy for clients identified by nurse home visitors (NHVs) as those who would benefit from mental health services. The NFP Bilingual Spanish Speaking Supervisor II Social Work will work under the direct supervision of The Manager of Mental Health and Strategic Partnerships. The NFP Bilingual Spanish Speaking Supervisor II Social Work will also work to connect NFP clients and families with needed community resources as well as provide support to Nurse Supervisors and NHVs through case consultation, case conferencing, and technical support as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, motivated, creative, fluent in Spanish, adaptive to change, trauma informed and comfortable with home visiting and willing to work in the community 80% of the time or more as needed.
The NFP Bilingual Spanish Speaking Supervisor II Social Work will be responsible for the following duties, not limited to:
- Provide short term individual, dyadic & group therapy to NFP clients in Queens and Manhattan
- Accompany NHVs on home-visits as needed for further evaluation of clients’ mental health needs.
- Conduct home-visits in order to provide therapy to NFP clients in their homes and communities.
- Facilitate NFP therapeutic groups at various NFP sites as needed.
- Connect clients to psychiatric services as needed.
- Provide NHVs with information on relevant client resources as well as to the NFP clients they are servicing.
- Provide and/or coordinate mental health trainings to NHVs.
- Provide and/or coordinate presentations re: community resources and services relevant to NFP families.
- Connect clients to additional long term mental health services as needed and provide coverage for other NFP Mental Health staff as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement processes to track and monitor mental health services received by NFP clients as well as outcomes.
- Participate in the orientation and in-service training of staff and other agency personnel on psychosocial problems and may be required to address community and professional groups as well

1. A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and two years of full-time satisfactory experience practicing social work utilizing one, or a combination of, casework, group work and community organization methodologies, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
2. Certification/License Requirements: A valid Certified Social Worker (CSW) certificate or Licensed Master of Social Work license (LMSW) issued by the New York State Department of Education must be obtained within one year of the date of appointment. Employees who fail to obtain their CSW or LMSW within one year after appointment will automatically have their probationary period extended for no more than six months. Failure to obtain the CSW or LMSW by the end of 18 months of service will result in dismissal.
3. Special Note: Section 424-a of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with child-care responsibilities has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report. The agency has the discretion to assign a candidate who has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report to a position with no child-care responsibilities.
